Huong Truong

Huong Truong (she/her) is a doctoral student at the University of Maryland, College Park, in the Higher Education, Student Affairs, and International Policy program. She is also a resident director and chapter coach for UMD’s Department of Fraternity and Sorority Life.

Truong earned her Bachelor of Journalism and Master of Education at the University of Missouri. Before arriving at UMD, she was a fraternity and sorority life (FSL) coordinator at Emory University in Atlanta. Truong has experience in FSL and residence life student staff training, advising, curriculum building, and programming. Her educational interests center on self-authorship for women of color, Asian American students’ sense of belonging, the fraternity and sorority life experience, and how student involvement impacts the psychosocial development of students of color and LGBTQ+ students.
