Pearl Lo
Pearl Lo (she/her/hers) is a Research Assistant working with Dr. Julie Park at the University of Maryland, College Park. In addition to working with Dr. Park, she is also a Research Assistant for UMD’s Department of Resident Life Research Division and the Graduate Assistant for the Student Affairs Concentration in the College of Education.
Pearl earned both her B.A. in Communications and Cinema & Media Studies (double major) and M.S.Ed. in Higher Education at the University of Pennsylvania. Prior to coming to UMD, she worked in the Office of Student Affairs and College Houses and Academic Services at Penn. She is currently a doctoral student at the University of Maryland, College Park in the Higher Education, Student Affairs, & International Education Policy program. She is also pursuing a graduate certificate in the Measurement, Statistics & Evaluation program.
Her scholarly interests focus on cross-racial interactions and friendship groups, particularly between Asian American students and their peers of color, and the experiences and psychosocial development of LGBTQ+ women and trans folx of color on college campuses.
